JUVENTUS ONE @ SCHOOL

FROM THE FIELD TO THE CLASSROOM: TOWARDS A MORE INCLUSIVE SCHOOL

Juventus One @ School is the educational program of Juventus One, Juventus’ Paralympic project. Since 2017, athletes from the Paralympic teams have been running educational workshops in schools of all levels, offering students a direct, hands-on experience with disability.

The workshop takes place in two phases at school, lasting a total of 2 hours.

The first phase is experiential and held in the gym. Through exposure to different types of disabilities, the goal is to allow students to feel firsthand what an athlete with a disability experiences when playing football. The key message is that disability does not represent a lack or a flaw in a person.

The second phase is a reflective session in the classroom. Through stories shared by the athletes and Juventus One staff, along with videos and images, the aim is to normalize disability and break down prejudice. Each session ends with a collection of reflections on the experience.

By the end of the workshop, students become aware of their own stigmatizing perspectives and how preconceived notions can limit the inclusion of friends, classmates, and individuals with disabilities in everyday life.

«Our visits to schools are filled with excitement, curiosity, autographs, and active participation. Every year, we reach countless children, teens, teachers, staff, and school leaders across the country. To each of them, we share our dream — one that’s becoming less utopian and more tangible — of a world that is participatory, inclusive, welcoming, and alive».

The project is open to schools of all levels (primary, lower secondary, upper secondary). Workshops are available in person, at the school site, from October to May, Monday to Saturday, during school hours. Each session is adapted to the target age group and specific needs expressed by teachers during the planning stage.

If you’d like to bring the workshop to your school free of charge, read the brochure and participation guidelines — and get in touch with us!
