Last year Juventus Women's journey in the UEFA Women's Champions League was the stuff dreams are made of. The Bianconere want to dream big again also this season. Having already progressed through the first round, Juventus have found out their opponents for the second round, the final obstacle before the group stages. Køge were the team drawn out of the urn, and just like last year against Vllaznia, the first leg will be played away before the return at home.

So, Denmark awaits Mister Montemurro and his team.

MATCH DATES AND TIMES

The first leg will be played on Tuesday 20 September at 18:00 CEST at Køge Stadion in Copenhagen, with the return match on Wednesday 28 September at 20:30 CEST at the "Giuseppe Moccagatta" stadium in Alessandria.

STEFANO BRAGHIN, HEAD OF JUVENTUS WOMEN

"Among the unseeded teams, Køge was the most accredited because for two or three seasons they have dominated the Danish league, one of the best in Europe, and have good international experience, having played the group stage last year like us. They are not seeded only because the club was founded a few years ago, but it has the value of a team that can be considered among the best in Europe.

"This is a peculiar year because we have not had any pre-season and above all because the girls have not had the opportunity to go on vacation, and in fact have been playing for two consecutive years. Regardless of the difficulty, we must do our best. It's something new and we have to find our way through it.

"Our opponents will have the advantage of having given fewer players to the national teams, but above all of having played more matches in the league, so they will be in much better form. However, we, too, still have three weeks' work to get better prepared for the games."

OPPOSITION FOCUS

Køge won the last Danish women's league last season and are top of the table after the first three matches of season 22/23 with full points.

In last season's Women’s Champions League, Køge participated in Group C with Barcelona, Arsenal and Hoffenheim, finishing last with 0 points.

Køge player Cecilie Floe is currently the top scorer in the Danish league with three goals to her name.

THE LAST TIME IN DENMARK

Juventus Women have already experienced European football in Denmark, on their debut in the UWCL in season 2018/19. After a 2-2 home draw, with Barbara Bonansea netting a double, the Danish team progressed with a 1-0 victory in the return leg.
