An important milestone reached and a goal scored were the big headlines for the Bianconeri on international duty last night.
Whilst Alvaro Morata scored for Spain in their 1-1 draw against Greece, Leonardo Bonucci reached 100 appearances for the Azzurri during their 2-0 win over Northern Ireland.
As mentioned, Italy defeated Northern Ireland 2-0, thanks to goals from Domenico Berardi and Ciro Immobile, with both Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini both starting and playing the full game. In addition, Federico Chiesa entered the fray on 75 minutes, replacing goalscorer Berardi, as Federico Bernardeschi was an unused substitute.
In Group B, Alvaro Morata scored a first half goal for Spain as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Greece when Anastasios Bakasetas equalised from the penalty spot. Dejan Kulusevki was on the winning side, completing 90 minutes in Stockholm, as his Sweden beat Georgia 1-0 thanks to Viktor Claesson's goal.
Finally, there was a thriller in Group I, with Wojciech Szczesny's Poland coming back three times to draw in Hungary. Roland Sallai and Adam Szalai gave the home side a 2-0 lead before they were pegged back thanks to Krzysztof Piatek and Kamil Jozwiak goals, before Willi Orban restored Hungary's advantage late on, only for Robert Lewandowski to pop up with an equaliser to finish the game at 3-3
