All eyes will be on Como this Saturday, 17 May, with Juventus Women and Roma facing off in the Women’s Italian Cup final. Kick-off is at 18:00 CEST.
The Bianconere will be going in search of their fourth-ever Italian Cup title, and will be hoping to secure their second piece of silverware this season having already won Serie A.
So, ahead of Saturday, let’s look back at the three previous Italian Cup successes.
THE FIRST TIME
They say you never forget your first, and Parma’s Stadio Ennio Tardini will always have a special place in Juventus Women’s history. It was there, on 28 April, 2019, that the Bianconere took on Fiorentina after doing battle with them all season long in the Serie A title race as well.
The start was frighteningly fast from the Bianconere, who led after eight minutes through Petronella Ekroth, and Valentina Cernoia doubled the lead with half an hour on the clock with s stunning strike. Tatiana Bonetti pulled one back for the Viola late on, but the outcome wasn’t to change.
And so, in the Emilian city, Juventus raised their first Italian Cup trophy to the sky.
EMOTIONS RUN HIGH IN FERRARA
The second Italian Cup win again came in Emilia-Romagna, this time in Ferrara and against now-familiar and constant foes on the big stage - Roma.
Juventus came into this game having won their fifth straight Scudetto, and they were looking to win every Italian trophy on offer in a single season for the first time. That season also saw an impressive Women’s Champions League run as well.
But Roma took the lead through Andressa Alves, and the Bianconere were up against it and trailed with 10 minutes to play.
For the Bianconere, though, nothing is impossible, and what happened next epitomised what ‘fino alla fine’ means.
Cristiana Girelli levelled with composure from the penalty spot on 80 minutes and, four minutes later, captain Sara Gama turned the game on its head. The emotions experienced that day, in those final few minutes, were unforgettable.

STOPPAGE-TIME SCENES IN SALERNO
Again against Roma and again with late drama, the Bianconere managed to seal their third Italian Cup.
The tension was palpable that day, and the heat in Campania was suffocating, so chances were few and far between.
As the 90th minute approached, though, both sides tried their luck and things opened up for the last 10 minutes. Lisa Boattin’s cross-turned-shot was one of those, and then Manuela Giugliano, at the other end, hit the post. Emilie Haavi came close after being picked out by Andressa, before Giugliano missed a chance she would have expected to put away.
Then came the moment. In the 93rd minute, Boattin delivered a teasing ball into the box and Barbara Bonansea met it, diverting it beyond Camelia Ceasar and sparking scenes of sheer jubilation.
