With a trophy in her arms, her eleventh with Juve - the most fitting way for Valentina Cernoia’s adventure in black and white to come to an end. Valentina donned the Juventus shirt for the last time in the Coppa Italia success in Salerno.
The Bianconere bid farewell to one of its foundation stones, one of the players that have been part of Juventus Women from day one, playing a key part in transforming a project and a dream into a success-laden reality and an authentic family.
Cernoia ends her days in black and white with 143 appearances, 30 goals and those eleven trophies.
Over these six years, her left foot has produced works of art on every field. Her debut goal for Juventus arrived on 12 May 2018, leaving her mark in a difficult first year due to serious injury. From then on, joy after joy.
One of the most spectacular goals in club history remains Valentina’s screamer in the final of the Italian Cup against Fiorentina at Parma. Her free-kicks were feared, and rightfully so - just think back to her most recent master class against Roma at Vinovo.
That finish in pure Cernoia style was also her last goal for the club, closing a circle with the captain's armband proudly on display. Her warrior spirit combined with unquestionable quality will long be remembered.
Everything that has been belongs to her and the history of Juventus. The last snapshot remains Sara Gama inviting her to lift the cup, a gesture that encompasses everything, more than mere numbers could ever achieve. Now a new chapter begins.
Good luck, Vale!
