Whenever you say Juventus, or whenever you think of a newsstand, the word 'Hurra' comes naturally to mind.

That is the name of the magazine - Hurra Juventus - that, since 1915, has been a bible for Juventus fans, again refounded in the 1960s. This coming 2023/24 season, we are going to be flicking back through the archives to relive the memories and retell the stories of past Serie A matches from the fanzine.

What better place to start than in Udine, the scene of our 2023/24 season opener?

1982: A five-goal glut!

It was the 13th game of the return round of fixtures, back in may 1982, when Juventus arrived in Udine with the Scudetto sewn onto their shirts - as we can see in the Hurra photos. But it was the hosts who started the party with a goal from Paolo Miano in just the second minute.

Then, though, Juventus went wild on a scoring spree. Our Bianconeri went in at the break already with their noses in front, thanks to goals from Domenico Marocchino in the 30th minute, and Antonio Cabrini just six minutes later. The second half saw Juve pick up where they had left off, and Paolo Rossi made it 3-1 inside five minutes of the restart. Cabrini netted again in the 85th minute, then Pietro Paolo Virdis put the finishing touches on the game in the 90th.

A three-goal cushion in 1997

The pages of Hurra read:

Catching up on a game missed due to Juventus' commitments in Tokyo, there was concern that the Bianconeri would come into the game tired and run down. Paolo Montero, Dimas Teixeira and Vladimir Jugovic were missing. Marcello Lippi's side responded in the best way, and enjoyed a flurry of goals.

Alen Boksic scored in the 23rd minute, and then came two penalties from Alessandro Del Piero in the 34th and 44th minutes. Massimiliano Cappioli cut the deficit for Udinese in the second half, but Didier Deschamps then restored the comfortable cushion. The 30,000 in attendance could only applaud what they had seen.

**Quotes in Hurra

**

Marcello Lippi: "[Zinedine] Zidane was fantastic, you can see all of Juventus in him. We're on a run now, we have high hopes, but the season is far from over."

Albero Zaccheroni: "Maybe 4-1 is an exaggerated scoreline, but I have to admit that the Bianconeri were clearly better than us. Lippi really does have a great team."

Boksic: "I'm happy with the great understanding I have with Del Piero. Perfection is impossible, but we're close. I can feel the Scudetto getting closer and closer."

Paolo Poggi: "This is a great Juventus team, but [Angelo] Peruzzi is extraordinary. With any other goalkeeper, we would have had a better result."
