23 July 2025
Samuel Mbangula has completed a permanent transfer to Werder Bremen, bringing his five-year journey with Juventus to an end.
Mbangula’s time with the Bianconeri began in the summer of 2020, when he joined the club’s youth ranks. After five appearances with the Under-17s, he went on to play 57 matches for the Primavera, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists, also featuring in seven UEFA Youth League games.
His transition to professional football came in the 2023/24 season, when he was promoted to Juventus Next Gen. He impressed with 25 appearances, earning a call-up to the Men’s First Team for preseason.
Mbangula quickly repaid that trust: he scored just 23 minutes into his Serie A debut, and went on to total 32 appearances, contributing four goals and five assists across all competitions in 2024/25.
The stats behind a breakout season
- Among Serie A forwards with at least four goals and four assists across all 2024/25 competitions, only Kenan Yildiz (2005) and Santiago Castro (September 2004) are younger than Samuel Mbangula (January 2004).
- Mbangula provided four assists this past season; only Kenan Yildiz (six), Dusan Vlahovic, and Khephren Thuram (both five) registered more for Juventus.
- He created 14 chances after ball carries (min. five metres) - only Yildiz (26), Francisco Conceicao (24), and Andrea Cambiaso (16) created more for the Bianconeri this past term.
Now, a new challenge awaits him in Germany.
All the best in your next chapter, Sam!
