Juventus Women face their first date with destiny in the Champions League this Thursday, December 15 when Joe Montemurro's side welcome FC Zurich to the Allianz Stadium in Matchday 5.
The Bianconere know that three points are essential in the 18:45 CET kick-off to boost their chances of reaching the knock-out phase for the second successive year since the tournament was revamped.
HOME FORM
After a complicated start to their domestic campaign with two defeats in the opening three matches, Zurich have since collected seven straight victories in the league to climb to second place in the standings, six points behind Servette, who boast a 100% record.
The most recent win, a 2-0 success at Rapperswil-Jona on December 13, was the first fixture of the second half of the Super League campaign but the last matchday of 2022, with the season resuming in February.
Zurich have won eight and lost two of the 10 league matches played so far and are the tournament's top scorers with 36 goals scored as well as having registered the second best defence with 11 goals conceded.
EUROPEAN FORM
In contrast to their positive home form, the Swiss champions have lost all four of their Champions League 2022/23 fixtures, with one goal for and 12 against.
Following a Matchday 1 defeat to the Bianconere in October, with goals from Valentina Cernoia and Barbara Bonansea, Zurich have since lost their three subsequent fixtures in this their debut in the UWCL group stages. A 3-1 setback at Arsenal preceded back-to-back matches with Lyon. Against the defending champions, Inka Grings' side lost 3-0 at home and most recently 4-0 in France.
