With two clubs of the stature of Juventus and Atalanta it is no surprise that players of note have worn the shirts of both teams.
This photo captures the situation precisely. Chasing the ball are Gaetano Scirea and Marino Magrin, who will meet again as teammates in Turin in season 1987/88.
Both made their names originally in Bergamo before joining Juventus. In the background we see Roberto Donadoni, an Atalantino who was courted by the Lady before opting to join Milan.
SIMONE PADOIN
Simone Padoin is another example of a player who arrived at Juventus directly from Atalanta.
Four and a half seasons with the Nerazzurri and as many with the Bianconeri. Simone also grabbed a goal against his former team-mates in season 2013/14, decisive in Juve's record haul of 102 points.
ALESSIO TACCHINARDI
At Atalanta he was the captain of an extremely competitive youth side, earning him promotion to the first team. Ater Juve set their sights on him, they did not let such a promising talent slip through their fingers.
Alessio Tacchinardi spent eleven seasons in Turin, making more than 400 appearances and scoring in two consecutive Juventus-Atalanta matches at the beginning of the millennium.
ANTONIO CABRINI
In 1975-76 Antonio Cabrini spent a season in Bergamo. Juve had taken him on a co-ownership deal with Atalanta from Cremonese and the Bianconeri were keenly observing his development.
From the following year he would wear the black and white stripes, making the left flank his own.
LUCIANO BODINI & CESARE PRANDELLI
A story of a great friendship that budded in Bergamo that blossomed in Turin.
Both goalkeeper Luciano Bodini and midfielder Cesare Prandelli had played for Atalanta together in 1978-79 and arrived at Juventus the following season.
Neither of them would ever impose himself as a first-team regular, but both provided an important contribution to the successes of Giovanni Trapattoni's Juve.
