22 August 2021
Juventus Women will face Vllaznia in the second round of the UEFA Women's Champions League. The first leg is set to take place on either 31 August or 1 September, before then returning back home for the return leg on 8/9 September. Up for grabs is a spot in the group stage, where Barcelona, PSG, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are already waiting for the teams who will emerge as victors from the second round.
JUVENTUS WOMEN'S JOURNEY
The Bianconere brilliantly qualified by claiming victories in the first round's mini-tournament, which was hosted at Vinovo. Joe Montemurro's ladies brushed aside Kamenica Sasa 12-0 in the opening match (hat-tricks for Caruso and Staskova, brace for Girelli and goals by Rosucci, Bonansea, Zamanian and Bonfantini), before then recording a 4-1 win against St. Polten in the final fixture (brace by Bonansea, and goals from Girelli and Hurtig).
ABOUT VLLAZNIA
Vllaznia took part in the only group made up of three teams from the first round of UWCL, and being the club with the highest coefficient, they only played in the final, against Ferencvaros. After a goalless draw in 120 minutes of action, the Albanians imposed themselves on penalties.
