The 184th Derby della Mole between Juventus and Torino ended goalless at the Allianz Stadium.
THE MATCH
The game was intense from the start, filled with tough tackles throughout. The Bianconeri dominated the match, controlling possession from within Torino's half, trying to create an opening. The first shots of the game all came from outside the box, courtesy of Locatelli, who failed to find the target. McKennie later had a chance inside the box, but the American didn't quite manage to score following a splendid team move.
The first half's biggest moments came after the halfway mark starting in the 26th minute, when Locatelli played a pass to Conceicao, who played a first-time pass from the right to Vlahovic in the box, but the number nine's powerful shot was blocked by Maripan, who had a very strong game. Four minutes later, Thuram had a chance to give Juventus the lead, but his right-footed volley was saved by Paleari. The final chance of the first half came from Conceicao, who outwitted the defender then fired a powerful shot just wide of the visiting goalkeeper's right post.
The second half began at a slower pace than the first, with Di Gregorio particularly on form, first by being alert to stop Simeone's overhead kick, then by superbly diving to his left to stop a shot from inside the penalty area, keeping the scores level. Spalletti then brought on fresh players from the bench, and they immediately took center stage. In the 67th minute, substitute David attempted a sliding finish from a Yildiz pass, and two minutes later fellow sub Zhegrova fired off a left-footed cross to McKennie for a header into the corner, which was also saved. The Bianconeri attempted a late push, filling the Torino penalty area with bodies but they were unable to find the key to breaking the deadlock, so the Turin Derby ended 0-0.
