A Bianconeri derby kicked off the highly anticipated summer tournament in Rome, with five Juventus players all involved in the match, which saw Roberto Mancini’s Italy run out 3-0 winners against Senol Gunes’ Turkey. After a goalless first half, the Azzurri got the game’s opener shortly into the second, with Domenico Berardi’s cross hitting the chest of Juve defender, Merih Demiral and diverting into the Turkish net.
Just over 10 minutes later and Lazio’s Ciro Immobile made it two, pouncing on a rebound from Leonardo Spinazzola’s parried shot to double Italy’s advantage. The goalscorer soon turned provider, as the Azzurri sealed the match when a mix-up in the Turkish defence saw Immobile play in Lorenzo Insigne who finished first-time past Ugurcan Cakir.
Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci both helped Italy to earn a clean sheet, playing the full 90 minutes at the Stadio Olimpico, with Federico Chiesa and Federico Bernardeschi both coming on as substitutes inside the final 10 minutes of the match. Demiral also featured for the duration of the game.
Next up for Italy is the game against Switzerland on 16th June, whereas Aaron Ramsey’s Wales will be in action again the Swiss at 15:00 CEST today, at the Baku Olimpiya Stadionu in Azerbaijan.
