08 December 2025
Today, Monday, December 8, 2025, is one of those days to circle in red on every Juventus fan’s calendar. Today our Club celebrates the 40th anniversary of the historic victory of its first Intercontinental Cup, won in Tokyo on December 8, 1985, against Argentinos Juniors. A final decided on penalties after a 2-2 draw at the end of what is considered the most spectacular match in the history of this competition, as well as one of the most spectacular matches in the history of football.
That victory was not “just” a triumph, but a true milestone that projected Juventus into the Olympus of football: the Bianconeri became the first club in Europe to win every official competition that existed at the time. A feat that speaks of dominance, determination, and a winning mentality that has always guided our Club.
THE BIANCONERI HALL OF FAME OPENS ITS DOORS TO THE 1985 TOKYO JERSEY
To honour that epic run and the stars on the field that day, the Hall of Fame, located inside the Juventus Museum, has officially welcomed a priceless relic: the jersey worn in that final in Japan, symbol of a team capable of overcoming every obstacle.
It was a moment of deep emotion, bringing back memories of the exploits of our players, the tension of the penalty shootout, and the overwhelming joy that Juventus fans felt in every corner of the world.
The moment came at the end of a special day spent together, remembering that match and all those shared moments. Tacconi, Cabrini, Bonini, Brio, Mauro, Manfredonia, Serena, Platini, Pioli, Briaschi and Bodini, reunited 40 years later.
First stop: the Allianz Stadium, and then the Juventus Museum. Here, in the presence of John Elkann, the President Gianluca Ferrero, the President of the Juventus Museum Paolo Garimberti, the Chief Executive Officer Damien Comolli, and the entire Leadership Team, the jersey was officially inducted into the Hall of Fame.
