It’s been four #F4BULOUS years that Juventus Women have been in existence, and they are years in which the Bianconere have gone on to win matches, set records, make history and, of course, win trophies. This year is no different: Rita Guarino’s ladies are once again celebrating the triumph of a fourth consecutive Scudetto trophy.
Across the span of these four years, there are certain names – 10 to be exact – who have been at the heart of the project since day. Their hard work and relentless displays have seen them become an integral part of the Club’s vision, making them a pillar and a symbol of strength in the team.
LAURA GIULIANI | #F4BULOUS STOPPER
Consistency has always been key at Juventus Women, and one player who has shown an incredible amount of regularity and dependability in her displays is Laura Giuliani. Since day one she has commanded the role of No.1 stopper between the poles, where she has guided the backline in front of her with control, all while managing to pull off incredible yet decisive saves. This season, she has collected the most cleansheets so far, 11 and counting, once again helping Juventus boast the best defensive record.
TUIJA HYYRYNEN | #F4BULOUS FORCE
Our Finnish full-back of four years has been commanding her place at right-back since the Bianconere’s inauguration. Her unwavering commitment in delivering nothing short of 100% in every match is sure sign of reliability, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed amongst Rita Guarino and her teammates. Not only that, Tuija has proven to be highly versatile; when she isn't seen surging up the flank and floating in crosses, she has proven to slot seamlessly into the center of defence when called upon.
SARA GAMA | CAPTAIN #FABULOUS
Juventus Women’s skipper since the beginning, Sara Gama is a leader both on and off the field for her teammates and peers alike. In her four years at the club, Gama has worn the armband with honour and prestige, fighting for every loose ball and disrupting her opponent’s play with well-timed tackles and finesse. Her performances over the course of the past four years have been instrumental in securing yet another Scudetto success.
LISA BOATTIN | #F4BULOUS ENERGY
Despite having arrived at Juventus at the age of 20, Boattin immediately won the trust of Rita Guarino as her starting left-back. Her unstoppable energy and force meant she could be find surging up and down the length of the field, while her ability to remain calm under pressure saw her help the team get out of any tricky, albeit rare, situation. Boattin’s penalty scored against Brescia in the Scudetto play-off in Juventus’ debut campaign proved to be the winning spot-kick, adding further proof that when called upon, she is always reliable. This season, Boattin has created the most chances for her teammates in the current Serie A season (30, at least six more than any other in the same role).
CECILIA SALVAI | #F4BULOUS GUARD
Sturdy and unfailing, Salvai has been at the heart of the Bianconere backline over the past four years where she has put in incredible displays that have seen her interpret the movement of approaching attackers with ease and precision. In fact, this season she has already made 42 defensive blocks over the course of the league campaign.
AURORA GALLI | #F4BULOUS DIRECTOR
“Yaya”, as she is affectionately known as, has been at the heart of the Juventus midfield since day one. She combines skills, position and her playmaking expertise to direct the play between herself and her teammates. This season, she found the back of the net in a long-range effort against Inter, while she also has one assist to her name.
VALENTINA CERNOIA | #F4BULOUS VISION
Calculated, precise and a joy to watch, Valentina Cernoia sees her next move before the ball even arrives at her feet. Her mean left foot has seen her create precious moments in a match, be it providing incredible assists or scoring stunning goals: Cerno’s league campaign this season has seen her find the back of the net on five occasions, while she has nabbed four assists. In her four years at the club, Cernoia’s discreet yet sophisticated way of playing has been a catalyst to the club’s success.
MARTINA ROSUCCI | #F4BULOUS ELEGANCE
Rosucci is the link between the backline and the attacking department. She works tirelessly in disrupting the opponent’s play in order to win the ball back and plays its forward. And this is reflective in her stats this season, where she has made 28 tackles and won the ball back on 20 occasions. Rosucci exudes elegance with every movement and touch she makes with the ball, and she has proven to be an important pillar in Juventus’ success over the course of the past four years.
ARIANNA CARUSO | #F4BULOUS WARRIOR
Fearless and with tireless energy, Caruso arrived at Juventus as a teenager and has grown into a mature and confident warrior. On the field, she never lets a challenge go by and her exuberance and class has seen her go from strength to strength in each passing year just like Juventus Women. Caruso, who is enjoying her best season in Serie A in terms of goals scored (six) is also the third best scorer for Juventus in all competitions (22 goals - only Girelli and Bonansea have scored more). She's also the first and only player to turn out 100 times for the club.
BARBARA BONANSEA | #F4BULOUS GOALSCORER
Bonansea arrived at Juventus already a proven goalscorer, and during her four years with the Bianconere she has gone on to score decisive and important goals plus assist in the creation of goals. In fact, this season alone she has been involved in 14 goals (six goals and eight assists). In total, amassing 52 goals at the club across all competitions (41 in Serie A), making her the second highest all-time scorer at Juventus behind Cristiana Girelli.
