The last time Juventus played the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia, it was a year ago on January 18 when they faced Sampdoria at the Allianz Stadium.

The Bianconeri eased through to the quarter-finals with a 4-1 victory. The goals came from Juan Cuadrado, Daniele Rugani, Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata.

Among the most memorable last-16 rounds are the debuts in the four Coppa Italias won in a row under Massimiliano Allegri.

Giovinco Juve Verona

FIRST SET TO JUVE

Allegri's first match for Juventus in the Coppa Italia took on tennis-like proportions.

Against Verona Sebastian Giovinco got the ball rolling, scoring after just five minutes. He would net another goal of his own to add to those scored by Roberto Pereyra, Paul Pogba, Alvaro Morata and Kingsley Coman. The final scoreline read 6-1.

Zaza Juve Torino

DEMOLITION DERBY

The following year, Juventus made their debut as defending champions, displaying the Coppa Italia target on their shirt.

The Turin derby should have been a complicated affair, but also this time Juve brushed aside their opponents. Simone Zaza scored a brace, Paulo Dybala and Paul Pogba did the rest for a comprehensive 4-0 win.

Mandzukic Juve Atalanta

FIRST-HALF FORCE

The last-16 encounter that proved to be the most problematic was that of season 2016/17. Juventus looked home and dry after a dominant first half against Atalanta, with goals from Dybala and Mario Mandzukic.

But the Nerazzurri from Bergamo closed the gap in the second half, not once but twice, even after Miralem Pjanic had restored the Bianconeri's two goal cushion from the penalty spot to make it 3-1.

Juve held on for a 3-2 win.

Higuain Juve Genoa

DEADLY DUO

The fourth consecutive Coppa Italia in Allegri's first spell in charge began with a tie against Genoa. The Argentine front-two decided the outcome. Dybala netted in the first half, Higuain in the second.

Sitting on the bench as an unused substitute for the Rossoblù was Raffaele Palladino, the current coach at Monza, who face Juve in the Round of 16 on Thursday evening.
