The Juventus Men’s First Team return home from Como without anything to show from their Serie A Matchday 7 trip. The hosts claimed a 2-0 win in Sunday’s lunchtime kick-off.
The match
The Bianconeri didn’t have the chance to get out of first gear before the hosts put themselves in front. Ever a threat, Nico Paz picked out a cross from the right that found Marc-Oliver Kempf at the back post, and he fired in on the volley from close range to leave Michele Di Gregorio with no chance of keeping his effort out.
Kenan Yildiz, Manuel Locatelli and Francisco Conceicao also tried to force chances in the Bianconeri’s favour, but none were able to find the target with their efforts.
Yildiz looked to pose trouble again, dribbling out wide on the left, but his service to Teun Koopmeiners to shoot couldn’t bring a goal. Khephren Thuram then tried himself, but with the same result.
Di Gregorio was again on hand to keep the hosts from getting a second early in the second half, and Koopmeiners came close with a curling free-kick that just didn’t dip enough to find the target. Thuram went in search again, but without success.
At the other end, Di Gregorio did well to deny both Alvaro Morata and Lucas Da Cunha.
Shortly after the introductions of both Weston McKennie and Dusan Vlahovic, in search of a leveller, Paz again took centre stage. This time taking the ball outside the box and moving towards goal, the Spaniard then opened up his body and dispatched a perfect strike into the corner of Di Gregorio’s goal.
Andrea Cambiaso and Vlahovic sought to halve the deficit, but it wasn’t to be, and Como took the points.
