SNOWED OFF
Juventus-Atalanta, the second match of the second half of season 2017-18, was originally scheduled to be played on 25 February 2018. But heavy snowfall before kick-off made the pitch unplayable.
CONTINUITY
The fixture was rescheduled for two and a half weeks later. This time everything was perfect for a great evening of football between Max Allegri's Juve and Gian Piero Gasperini's Atalanta, the two coaches who will again go head on this year.
The Bianconeri came into the match on the back of 11 consecutive victories, the last eight of which had arrived without conceding a goal. The list was about to be extended for both categories.
A QUESTION OF TIME
The balance between Juventus and Atalanta lasted just under half an hour. In the opening third of the match, the biggest opportunity arrived at the feet of Blaise Matuidi.
The goal, both for the team and for the Frenchman, had - like the match - only been postponed.
GO GONZALO
Juve made the breakthrough in the 29th minute. Gonzalo Higuain was set up after an irrepressible turn of pace from Douglas Costa, a combination already seen in Naples previously that campaign.
BLAISE OF GLORY
The slender advantage remained up to the closing 10 minutes. After Douglas Costa had hit the post, it was Matuidi who settled the matter with the game's second goal. Higuain played an important part again, this time in the role of assist man.
