Interviews following the Juventus Women's team's 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich from the second matchday of the League Phase of the UEFA Women's Champions League.
MASSIMILIANO CANZI
"I'm happy with the performance, but I'm disappointed about what happened in the last minute: watching the replays countless times, there's no way to know for sure whether that last ball went in or not. There's no guarantee: it could have been in or it could have been out. I think we played a good match, but in the end, Bayern deserved to win because they played better than us and had more chances. In the end, we lost, but as I said, we don't know if it was our fault or not. I'm happy with how the team performed; we were brave, and in the end, perhaps, we could have snatched a draw. I like the new format of the competition, since we're playing against six teams instead of three: in some ways, it's more complicated, but also more intense, and I really like it. I saw a lot of positive things from our girls during the match: I'm happy with their performance, which was top-notch."
CRISTIANA GIRELLI
"I think we should be proud of what we showed tonight. We're obviously sad to have conceded such a crucial goal in the last minute. I don't even know if the ball went in. It's crucial to have the right technology to support our work. Coming here isn't easy. Bayern Munich is a really strong team: we fought until the end, but after this result, we have to keep our heads down, work hard, and start over."
LIA WALTI
"It was a very difficult match, given that Bayern is one of the best teams in Europe. We put in a good performance and defended our goal well, and losing right at the last minute was a shame. The team did a good job today, and we would have been happy with a draw, but I think it was still a good performance. We practice set pieces a lot, and before she took the shot, I told [Schatzer] to be confident, because I knew she could do it: we see her take a lot of free kicks, and she often has a powerful and accurate shot, so I told her to be brave and go for it. She scored, so I'm very happy for her."
