The Juventus Women’s First Team returned after the international break with a 2-1 Serie A Women victory over Ternana, thanks to late goals in each half by Michela Cambiaghi.
The Bianconeri started the match with intensity, controlling possession and looking for gaps in the compact Rossoverdi defence. In the 16th minute, the first chance came from a set piece: Estela Carbonell tried to surprise Gloria Ciccioli with a long-range free kick, but her shot went wide.
In the 30th minute, Barbara Bonansea came close to giving Juve the lead. Tatiana Pinto played her in with a good ball, but the striker was just a whisker away from making the decisive contact. Juve increased the pressure and in the 34th minute came close to scoring again through Chiara Beccari, who was beaten to the ball at the last second by Kaja Erzen after an excellent cross from Paulina Krumbiegel.
In the 35th minute, Beccari herself had a golden opportunity as the Ternana goalkeeper misjudged a new cross from Krumbiegel, but the Bianconera striker failed to hit the target. Juve continued to push forward and in the 44th minute, Cambiaghi threatened with a header from Lia Walti's cross, sending the ball just over the bar. The opening goal came a minute later, as Carbonell delivered a perfect cross for Cambiaghi, who beat Ciccioli to the ball and headed home to make it 1-0.
The second half began with a shock for Juve, as in the 50th minute, Ternana equalised through Stephanie Breitner as she scored a free kick from the edge of the box. Coach Massimiliano Canzi made some substitutions in an attempt to regain the lead.
In the 73rd minute, Krumbiegel tried her luck with a left-footed shot from the edge of the box, but Ciccioli pushed it out for a corner. Five minutes later, the German tried again with a powerful shot that went wide.
The Bianconere's final push saw Cambiaghi take centre stage. In the 88th minute, the striker almost scored by getting on the end of Martina Lenzini's cross, but a minute later, she scored her second goal of the game.
Bonansea crossed toward the far post, and the number 36 pounced with a header, beating Ciccioli once again to make it 2-1. Juventus managed their lead in the final few minutes and took home three crucial points.
